Short answer

What a Clean cycle shows up

You notice it the day after a Clean: the oven door no longer sits flat against the range, a line of shadow runs along its top edge, and the knobs above it feel warmer than before. Wolf describes Clean as heating the oven to an extremely high temperature for about four hours, so a door that was only just sealing tends to give itself away here.

Three things are usually involved: a gasket that was scrubbed or pushed about before the cycle, hinges disturbed when the door was lifted off, and the door’s own alignment. Please leave the door on; Wolf warns that one refitted incorrectly can affect how the oven performs.

Where the installation comes in

A Wolf range is levelled on its front legs and rear casters before its door is aligned, so the door is only as square as the range under it. After new flooring or cabinets in a Squak Mountain remodel, a range can sit slightly out of level, or be pushed back far enough that the door edge brushes trim as it closes. Either looks like a door fault, so we check level and side clearance before hinges and gasket.

Before you book

Let the cycle finish and the oven cool. The door stays locked until the cavity drops below 550°F and should release by itself; never force a locked handle.

With the door open, shine a torch along the gasket without rubbing, tugging or tucking it in. Note any stretch that looks flat, torn or out of line.

Close the door slowly and look along it from the side at eye level. Note whether the gap at the top is even across the width or one corner stands off.

Can I keep baking with a door that no longer seals?

Keep to short, moderate bakes and expect uneven results, with more heat escaping towards the knobs above the door. Do not run another Clean cycle until the door has been looked at, because that cycle puts the most heat against a poor seal.
